so i was sighting in my new crossbow today and being a rank amateur i was so focused on safety and properly operating the bow that in the course of the day i was lubing the rail and the strings as i thought the directions told me to do so
after heading home i realized i put rail lube on the bow strings, not realizing it was different from bow wax.
what should i do now? how bad did i mess up? can i just clean the strings and put wax(which i just bought) on?

I would not worry about it to much, clean them off with a dry rag then run your bow wax onto the cables. Make sure you do not use the bow wax on the servings though.
