Hope all is well. My brother and I just got back from an Elk hunt in Colorado. He has a house there, so I met him last week and we drove 4 hours to hunt Elk. I had a Muzzleloader tag, he had the archery tag. On Sunday, I harvested a nice 5x5 with my Encore. My brother had one on Tuesday at 15 yards, he drew but there was branches covering the vitals. He passed. I told him I respected what he did, never doubt an ethical decision to pass on quarry with a bow. We had a great time hunting together. I will never forget this experience. Hope you are all well, be safe....
Congrats on a nice bull!
Thank you, appreciate it. I was fortunate. The weather was very hot, but around 49/50 in am. Shot mine at 7:00 am. The afternoon hunts were non productive due to the heat. Hopefully it cools down for the rest of the hunters. Be well.....
That's awesome! Congratulations on a nice bull.
Congrats on a nice bull and getting to share the experience with a loved one.

Thanks Greg........
Congrats to you both!! A nice bull, a proper decision and time in the woods with your brother. It doesn't get much better than that.

Amen my friend, not many could have made his decision not to try and "weave" one through the branches. He's really good when it comes to passing on a bad shot. My time with him is priceless, the Elk was just an added bonus. Thanks much, be safe.....
Congratulations Tom!! Sounds like an awesome trip, especially spending the time with your brother.
Congrats!

Congrats on a good hunt.
Congratulations, always good to make memories.
Thanks. First morning they were bugling at the bottom of a Meadow. We watched them in the dark chasing cows. They walked up the ridge, we chased them for 2 hours. We left them be and went back the next morning. They were to the right of the Meadow. We went to the top of the ridge and set up. The bull was below my brother about 50 yards, but skirted us to get down wind. We moved down the ridge, and after 3 moves, he started to come in. I watched him walk toward me down a sage Meadow for about 125 yards. He dropped into a ditch below me, climbed up in front of me at 50 yards. He was facing me, frontal shot. I waited, he quartered away from me, I shot. He whirled, leaped over the ridge. I got him though the lungs with my Encore. He ran about 80 yards. It was the thrill of a lifetime. Thank you....
Well done Tom - awesome that you could share that with your brother.

Thanks much. That's what was most important, walking up to that elk with my brother, we shared it together. That's what I will treasure the most. Be well......

Congrats....how was the camping and the packout?
congrats on the 1,000 Lb turkey
Congrats Tom! My wife and i took a day trip up to Benezette Pa. on saturday to see the elk. We have gone there several times in previous years, but only saw a couple bulls this trip, and only heard one bugle. Turned out to be a really warm sunny day, and i think most of the elk were back in the timber in the shade. Still was a great time spent with some good friends to celebrate our wedding anniversary! Elk are amazing animals!
Congrats Tom nice bull!!
Congratulations to you and much respect to your brother, it is never a good decision to take that shot and those that do are the ones that give we archers a bad name.
Thank you all. It was the experience of a lifetime. I always watch the Elk shows on TV, never thinking I would get an opportunity to put my hands on one. Being a whitetail hunter all my life, I never realized how massive these animals are. The hunt does relate to turkey hunting, the calling and the set-ups are everything. Thanks again, be safe.....
Congratulations!
Congrats !

Thanks my friend. I have the back straps and tenderloins being shipped home. I donated the rest to comrades that needed it....I don't have enough freezer to hold all that meat. Be safe,
