Title: Is The Rem Full Tight Enough?
Post by: Spring Creek Calls on June 04, 2011, 04:03:57 PM
Has anyone patterned the Rem full with Fed HW 7's? I've read talk of over choking with the heavy stuff, wondering if anyone opens up this much. I'm setting up a 20 ga. 870 for my daughter and the last thing I want is to get too tight for that 20-30 yard shot.

Shoot it..only way to find out. A few shots and you will be able to determine her range.

I set up a 870 20" with rifled sights for my 7 year old to take to Kansas this past spring.  I used a factory Mod and Hevi13 7's and it patterned excellent to 30 yards the limit I set for him.  I really was not going to let him shoot past 25 yards but wanted a little buffer.  He shot 2 birds with 1 shot at 12 yards.  Glad I did not go to a full choke like I was going to.  He may have missed that close.

The factory full should be plenty for the range a youth should be shooting.
