If you had to choose one pot call surface what would it be?
If you would like to get more specific, what wood species or cast for that surface?
I'm a slate junkie through and through. Green slate so I could scream on it if I had to. Lots of good wood choices from lots of good makers, but the green slate in my current collection that would go with me is a Buster Halford persimmon pot.

Black / grey slate / slate in a cedar or sassafras pot.
If I had to have only ONE pot to hunt with...........
Enticer silver thunder extreme aluminum.
Alum on the top for all types of calling and it is all weather capable. Loud raw aluminum is able to cut through the wind as well if needed. Soft talk on the back of the corian for finesse work.
I have a jet black Gaboon Ebony slate / slate it's awesome to My ears
I woud have always said slate, but this year the glass has been the magic, Mike
Crystal, you can get as loud or soft as you want and it keeps great tone and pitch.
Crystal would be my choice as well
Green Slate, or Stoned Aluminum. Depends which side I was rolled over on when I woke up that morning.
Another vote for crystal, and the call would be a Schaffer Mad Hen 2.
Black/grey slate over slate in a Cherry or Walnut pot.
Ceramic in a cherry pot with Clay Townsend persimmon snakewood striker.

Grey Slate
Red slate for me

Finally landed a Paul Platz Maple Slate over glass from a fellow forum member. This thing is all turkey, the matching striker combo is in my vest everyday. The best slate I have. Got great results this year...
This year it's a Grey slate/slate in a walnut pot.
My favorite at this time is crystal followed closely by grey slate.
