Title: Original dymondwood striker
Post by: Harty on June 07, 2018, 09:52:47 AM
I am looking to purchase a few of the original dymondwood Strikers. In searching I see a great variation in price. Are most of these originals or are some the newer composites?

I know the dymalux is a newer version. Do these work as well as the original?

Recommendations where I should go to purchase would be appreciated!

Thanks !,

Got to agree with you on that one!

Just got these in the mail today from Derrick they are really nice well balanced strikers.

The green one is a Rutland dymondwood striker.  The others are purpleheart, tulipwood and yellowheart.  i special ordered these with straight tips and his turnaround is very fast.  The dymondwood is not cheap but I think it is worth it, plays on everything I have tried it on so far.

I have the original Rutland Dymondwood, I turn them for Hooks custom calls and a few other call companies. If you're interested shoot me a pm or go on Hookscalls.com. I have about every color they ever made. I have somewhere around 7-800 blanks.

I ordered the pink one fifth from the left. I seriously considered the chocolate brown one along with about four others and decided on the pink because I thought it would be easier to see when I drop it, which I know will happen...LOL

I have seen the ones from Obsession on Ebay.  I think i will be ordering one from Hooks.  I have some original dymondwood dowels and make them by just turning the topper.  Can never have to many strikers.

Derrick Stuckey makes great strikers. His diamondwood is my favorite striker.
