Title: Bands to secure reed
Post by: tha bugman on April 24, 2018, 10:46:44 AM
What type of band do you use to secure the reed to the call?  I have been experimenting with several different materials but have not been completely satisfied with what I have come up with so far.  Thanks!

I prefer small diameter rubber bands. It seems like the tune stays longer between adjustments.

I have used the small hair bands and they seemed to work, but I was looking for something more durable.

I think I've had the same o-ring on a Lavender Mountain tube for over a decade. I only use that call about two weeks per year, though. Tube calls I use a lot are carried in a case.

I think it was silvestris who suggested the largest size pill bottle from a pharmacy. I got one free for asking.
