Title: Middle TN Fall
Post by: mufishgrad on October 15, 2019, 09:22:59 PM
Hey guys so Im new to middle Tennessee as of the past few months and have moved to Robertson county from
New Mexico. I have hunted public land out there for a few years and have tried my luck this fall on the Cheatham WMA. Im trying to figure how to locate and call these birds better spring and fall. Not looking for any coordinates or amything just how they might act. Any info is appreciated.

They orient around food in the fall. Find what they are eating and you'll find the turkeys. I think one thing missed often by fall hunters is call volume and intensity. Many calls you hear are very subtle and soft. You may only get a cluck or two at first. Keep your ears on high alert and listen for almost indistinct calls like cherps or clucks will give birds away
