Title: Russell Super Elite 3, magnetic striker pockets
Post by: super870JT on April 04, 2013, 07:41:10 AM
My ONLY gripe with this turkey vest was those striker pockets, i lost a custom striker last season and it made me sick..so anyways

I had the wife sew on magnets for those sideways pockets, and it seems 40 times better...i think every pocket in a every turkey vest should be magnet based.

Great idea. I love those magnetic pockets.  Where did you get the magnets?  Did you use magnets for both sides of the closure or did you use metal for one of the sides?

Thanks in advance for any tips you can provide as I'm thinking of doing this myself for some of my pockets.

I was recently looking for some small round magnets and found quite a few on eBay.

Great idea. I will have to look into applying it to my vest....... Mine has buttons and some don't snap anymore. This would definitely fix that problem......

My Old Tom shirts have Magnets in the two top call pockets. Great idea untill you want to use your compass to get a bearing on a Gobble.  I cut them out and just use the Zippers.
