2 friends and I are looking to plan a diy turkey trip to celebrate our last semester of college and have decided we want to hunt merriams. Our issue now is what state we want to chase them in... I understand anywhere can get pressured but we are wanting some opinions on Montana, Wyoming, Nebraska, or South Dakota. Thanks for any advice ladies and gentleman!

Myself and a buddy are doing the same this spring. First time ever going out West to hunt birds. Considering we are in the same boat, and I don't have any good advice to give at this time, the only thing I can say is get the Elite OnX hunt membership and utilize that as a starting point for scouting.

I've hunted Merriams in CO, NB, and NM all can be good or terrible.

One of my personal current interests is nest predators and how a majority of hunters, where legal bait to the extent of chumming coons.  However once they get the predators concentrated they don't control them.
