Can anyone identify the wood type of this striker, I've had it for a long time and can't remember where I got it. It plays good an a variety of pots. Also do the call makers usually refrain from staining them. I'm not sure if this is a dark color wood or just stained to look dark?

It's for sure a production striker because it came from awhile back when that's all I had. So likely a Primos or HS Strut. But it plays good on all my pots including my newer custom ones.

The tip is lighter, but all my strikers seem to have a lighter tip

The light colored tip is because its un finished wood...

Def not wenge, you'd see the grain....and very confident a production striker is not going to be gaboon ebony.

Your camera skills need a little work....lol
A crystal clear close up of the wood may be able to get you closer to an answer.

I just weighed 3 other one piece strikers of similar length
270 gn Purple heart
280 gn Blood wood
332 Gn Hickory
So i guess its somewhere in the middle.
