Title: kicks choke suggestions
Post by: Rockhound on April 24, 2014, 10:06:13 PM
I should have posted this sooner but I really haven't thought about it.

If you are just starting out with a kicks

1. Something I've noticed is they need to be broken in, I ran 20 or so lead loads through my 690 before it reached full potential.

2. I dunno if this will apply to all but I cleaned the 690 once and my patterns went to crap. Now when I clean it I run a couple lead loads through it to foul it back up

Thanks for the suggestions and advice Rockhound. I am loving my .690! I think your right about it "breaking in" as mine just got better and better. Mine shot it's best patterns after a  deep cleaning, then a couple of shots, dry brushing in between the shots. Thanks for recommending this choke to me, it shoots very even nice patterns with everything I've tried so far. Will post up some patterns after season ends( going to test some more loads) Have a lot of pics to post yet but need my kid to show me how  and he is still busy with school, lol!
