Picked up a couple of calls from Matt Van Cise, and boy are they nice! I ordered a Macassar over Poplar box, and his walnut / paduak crystal pot. ALL turkey coming out of theses calls... (kind of like having Eddie Van Halen build you a guitar ;D)

l Listened to some of Matts sound files yesterday, all I can say is that man has it going on. The calls sound great, and I do mean great!!!!
After reading this post I buzzed over to his place, heck of a nice guy.

On Steelerfan's recommendation I decided a Van Cise shortbox in my favorite snakewood over black limba. As you can see I was thrilled when I opened the package today. Not only great sounding but just awesome craftsmanship to boot!!
ive got the macasser over poplar, I m not easily impressed with calls. This one is excellent in every way but one. Cant gobble on it. It does sound excellent. Mike

Thanks steeler fan. Went to his facebook and wanted one of every box call he listed. Holy cow , I have a truckload of high end box calls , but these are unbelievable sounding to me. I ordered a ipe over chestnut , a snakewood over limba and a chatke viga over poplar. Put a dent in my check book but I couldnt resist lol.

I snagged a couple of his strikers a couple months ago. Dymondwood and bloodwood......man are they nice. I ordered them through Facebook one morning and he messaged me later that afternoon to tell me they were ready to ship. From a block of wood, to ready to ship in less than 12 hours.

I did the same a while ago. He answered right back and said he'd start turning the striker that night. The next day I got a pic. message of the different steps in the progression and soon afterwards notification that it had shipped...VERY good customer experience and the striker is a VERY good one!

Talked to Matt today. A few of you know I am a now father of a little girl to go along with my two year old boy, so money is tight! After the recent talk on here and VERY little play money left, I messaged Matt and decided to make one of his boxes my last purchase for possibly quite a few months. I asked him to make me a macassar over Poplar. About two hours ago he messaged me and asked me to call him. He informed me on the phone he couldn't get the Poplar to work right. One side was great, the other wasn't, and it was the only two pieces of Poplar he currently had. He then told me due to me already paying for that particular call and him not being able to get it to work, that he would build me a snakewood over pecan or beech and whichever sounded the best was mine for the taking, no extra charge for the snakewood. If that's not standing behind your product and being just a plain awesome guy I don't know what is. First experience with Matt, and I'm sold for many more. Just figured I'd share with you fellas! Should ship tomorrow and I'll be sure to get pictures up when it gets in!
He shipped mine yesterday! Wish he ran into a problem :drool: love Snakewood for boxes! Can't wait to see it and hear it

Bloodwood/Beech came today. Craftsmanship and sound is great. I can see myself getting another down the road. Great guy to deal with through the whole process.

Yeah, I don't either. That's definitely expensive for bloodwood.
I've been listening to Matt's calls a lot on Facebook.
They sound amazing.
I'm probably going to be ordering myself one in the future.
