What everyone else has said, but I'd buy his regular frogwood AND his weighted frogwood (bullfrog). As far as cost, I believe they're $30.

My Frogwood Striker, from Jeff, is ALWAYS in my vest, along with 3 or 4 others from him !!!
I lost my green camo frogwood striker from JLH this year and spent more time going back and looking for it than I probably should have. Fortunately I got up with Jeff and I had a new one in the new camo in no time. They grip pot surfaces consistently well for me.

Have both the Frogwood and Bullfrog striker from Jeff (plus another 10 from him in different woods) and both the Frogwood and Bullfrog run great.

Cant say it enough JLH frog wood is my go to very impressive quality
I have a JLH Frogwood that sounds really good on dark slate but no so much on my red slate? Does anyone know if that's pretty normal?

Frogwood might work for some, but when it comes to slate calls, hard to beat hickory and persimmon strikers.
I really like mine from Jeff, really seems to bite into any surface and make it sound good.
JLH Frogwood, I think I have 4 or 5 of them, plays well for me on most any surface.
Jeff's frog wood never leaves my vest.
