Anyone have experience with small time cnc or router options for continual reproductions? Right now i turn all my calls and producing the same call takes alot of time, continually stopping and measuring tiny increments to reproduce the same pot. What's y'alls recommendations? I'd like to sell some calls, and may just continue turning them but would like to know what y'all do. Thanks.
Options I've considered
1. Cnc (con it's expensive)
2. Drill press (never tried before)
3. Router (Don't know the first thing about this method)

I don't have experience with a cnc, but after some investigation it looks to be the best option if your selling a lot of calls. I've tried a drill press and for my taste the lathe is a much better option. I think a router is fine if you have a good setup but I still like the lathe better. So my two cents says a cnc would be great if your moving a lot of calls (which I don't), but the lathe is probably the best alternative. Good luck with whatever you choose.
I love turning my calls but it's slow when your being meticulous with measurements. I may start a blank on the press and then finish it on the lathe and see how much time difference it makes. I'm thinking no more than 5-10 mins

Wow that's pricey. I turn my own now. Do you own this dvd?

I bought that dvd about 10 years ago. Just to see what else someone was doing. I t was not for me, a CnC would be the way to go. But how can you say it is a custom call coming off of a CnC. Just my 2 cents worth.

Yeah I've pulled away from the cnc idea for that reason.
