M1 super 90 or M2, from ducks to geese and turkey, dove and home defense.  Jack of all trades master of all trades.  Turkey is next.  Had it for a decade and it's been bomb proof.  Just now setting it up for tukeys.

Benelli SBE II

I"m gonna have to say SBE II with steady grip stock dipped in bottomland or a SX3 longbeard dipped in bottomland. I'd try as many chokes as I could. Either gun would be topped with a FFIII.

I grew up on what was my dream gun. An AH Fox SxS choked F&F with 30" barrels. It was no longer overall than a pump or SA with 24" barrel. I killed a lot of turkeys with that old gun that had been my grandfathers from back in 1913. I finally retired it to the safe as it was starting to occasionally double fire and I decided the max loads I used for turks were to stout for it. After that I went through a lot of guns looking for something that satisfied me. Took years and way to much money to figure out what I wanted. I wouldn't call what I'm using a dream gun but it is completely functional for my purposes. A semi-auto 3" 12 gauge, 20" barrel & extended XF choke, with a cantlevered barrel for a telescopic sight for my less than perfect eye sight. I also wanted affordable and reliable, and looks didn't matter. In fact I wanted a gun that I wouldn't be concerned about dragging through whatever I ran across from mud to bug spray. What I'm using today fit all those parameters, an ugly & functional Stoger M2000. I guess I just never much of a dreamer.

I have mine, an 870 special purpose made in the late 80's. It has a parkerized matte finish, and dark stained walnut wood. My father give it to me many years ago, and it shows a lot of wear, but I'm as proud of it as I would be a high dollar shotgun! I have taken a lot of critters with it, it's still in the truck waiting on 5am!

Money no object?  Then it would be a James Purdey axe 2 sets of barrels one set 20ga the other 28ga. Both sets regulated to poi, both choked exclusively for TSS shot. And ceracoated mossy oak bottomland.  I have an m2 20ga camo that does the same job though.

as far as a pump I own an 870 that's pretty custom to begin with. ive always wanted a Ithaca turkey slayer but having never shot one or seen one, or even know anyone whose owned one I cant really say its a dream gun.

in the automatics, that would be a tough call as I like just about every automatic ive handled, berretta, benelli, 1187s, and brownings. I just like a pump, I got lucky to have an 870 that threw a good pattern stock much less after all ive done to it

Got mine last Friday, Weatherby SA-459 Turkey 20 gauge.  Just ordered a red dot for it and a Sumtoy choke.  It is my first dedicated turkey shotgun.

I've hunted with an 870, an 835, an SX3, a Beretta 390 and a CVA single shot.  I find myself gravitating to the single shot.  It's so light and compact and patterns well to 40 yards with the HW 7's...it's a joy to hunt with.
The SX3 (20 ga) is a pleasure to shoot but the short overall length of that CVA keeps me pulling it from the gunsafe.
I'd get the Purdy's too tho...just for the sake of carrying something that fine!

Be hard to beat a Browning A-5...Either that or Benelli SBE II...

Mine would be custom built. It weigh about as much as a golf ball, shoot a 4.5" super magnum shell, throw about 600 #9 TSS into the 10" circle with another 300-400 in the 20", kick like a 22 long rifle, sound like a mouse fart and look an awful lot like the mossberg 835 I've gotten fond of carrying. That's the gun for me.

Also just picked up a 20 ga. Not sure it is a dream gun, but will be a dream to carry at about 6 pounds.
TSS has made the 20ga more lethal than the factory loaded turkey ammo.

I pretty much got mine, but $$$ being no issue Rob Roberts gobbler guns in Arkansas, the one incidentially that does ALL Benelli's custom guns both waterfowl & turkey. But mine would be a SBE 2 24" Bbl. trimmed with all the bells & whistles....lengthened & polished forcing cones,EDM ported bbl.,speedbead system with Burris FF3 with a custom Final Strut choke tube that fires the Federal Heavyweight #7 shot the best.....But then again,I pretty much have that now!!!! Also as good as the 20ga. ammo is nowadays the same gun except in 20 gauge!!!!

I have two guns that I consider my dream turkey guns. My SBE 2 with steady grip and my Winchester SX3 with Aimpoint red dot scope. I am not liking the steady grip of the Benelli as much as I thought I would so the SX3 will be my top pick. Plus the red dot is really nice to have.

Sure can, and sorry for the delayed response, I had forgotten about this post!

This is a custom gun built from a curly maple blank by Ken Moors of NC.  It is an English style fowler and uses a Colerain 38" 20ga octagon to round turkey barrel.......its machined with a built in tapered choke in the last few inches. It is a .62 bore that tapers to about .575 which is equivalent to many modern 20ga turkey choke constrictions. And it will shoot right with them as you can see!
The lock is a Chambers Early Ketland model and I drilled the internally cut and coned vent out to 5/64" for the most reliable ignition possible.
It goes off like a caplock and is a breeze to carry all day long. It actually points and handles very much like a modern shotgun. Finished weight is about 7lbs even.
Ken is an outstanding craftsman, and it still boggle my mind that someone can take a hunk of wood and some basic compnents and turn them into something so beautiful and functional at the same time. His engraving is top notch and I gave him free hand to do what he wanted with it.....since he knew it was a dedicated turkey gun he added that little touch of a period style turkey image to the lock.
Here are a few more looks at some of the other components and engraving.........some of the pics are a little shiny as these were taken by the builder before the final "aged" finish.

I think an old school Belgian made browning a5 20 gauge dipped in green leaf or original bottomland, with a 24 " bbl and Williams fire sights.   Have her with screw in chokes and she would roll mid 130's -150 all day long but would be forgiving at 15.   That in my opinion would be sweet.
