Haven't seen many post lately with Lonnie's calls and thought I would show these. These are my favorite box calls from Lonnie. They are probably 6-10 years old, they have been put up for a while and I decided to run them on game day.
They are: All Walnut, (Walnut over Black Limba My Favorite of this bunch) Walnut over Cedar and Purple heart over cedar.

Yes, I have ran just about everything he has made. I have been to Lonnie's 5 or 6 times in the last 8 years.

Fine looking calls. I only have a cedar pot call from him that came with a canarywood striker, sounds real good though. I wish remembered who it was that grabbed it for me, I would love to get a few more from him, box call and scratch box this time though.

I bought some cool boxes from Mr. Mabry a few years ago at his place. My favorite is a long box with a purpleheart lid over poplar. I really need to go see him again. It's about a four hour drive for me. Has anyone talked to him lately. I'm sure he's getting some traffic from the Unicoi crowd.

I just bought a purpleheart over poplar long box from him last month that I likely will never part with. Like your same combo, It too is great sounding call. If I knew how to post a picture, I would post it for all to see.
I heard your sound file you posted last year of a cedar pot that you got from him. It sounded really good as well. I have a few of his pots in storage myself. I may take one of them out this time to wax a turkey with. His pots to me just have a really great mellow sound.
Just a heads up for all who are going - Mr. Lonnie said that he will be at Unicoi this week. He is not going to bring calls, but he said he will be there. I hope that nothing comes up last minute and that he is able to do so as he is a blast to hang out with as most of you already know.
