To start it's been a while since I've been active on here! I've been in the middle of a full blown home remodel the past few months that has practically zapped all of my free time away from me. That being said I've still been about my normal business of turkey calls. I figured these two were a good way to jump back onto the forum and bring myself in to hopefully being a little more active around here again! Pictured are two new ones I've recently received. One is a TJ Johnson Padauk Over Mineral Poplar and the other, which I received today, is a Marlin Watkins All Walnut Fiddle that he personal carried a bit during this fall season. Everyone who knows me knows that I'm a fiddle box fiend. I've loved a Watkins fiddle since I first laid hands on one a few years ago but recently I've been on the TJ train and TJ is quite simply knocking it out of the park on every call he turns out of the shop. This padauk/poplar call from TJ in particular might possibly be my favorite box I own if I'm being honest. As far as Mr. Marlin goes this is the first I've gotten from him in a while and the wait was absolutely worth it. The all walnut is as fine of a call as I've ever ran. Both are phenomenal calls that ooze quality as expected and are both at the upper echelon of hen talk. They will both absolutely be in my vest this coming up spring. Hope all is well with you fellas and it's nice to finally post again! Haha.

Nice calls from two great makers!

TJ and Marlin are both super nice guys also.

I agree with you that TJ is really dialed in with those fiddle calls.

Very nice looking calls. I got one of Marlin's Fiddle Paddles at turkey trot and hope to get one of his Fiddle Box's and a One Sider from him as well. Great sounding calls. Have heard nothing but good about TJ's calls and I am sure his sounds every bit as good as it looks.

Congrats on the two sweet calls. I personally think walnut over walnut is one of the best combos for a short box.
A quality paddle caller will most run itself.  It just needs someone to carry it around the woods. Yoder409
