This past season I saw a bobcat kill a full grown gobbler, he chased the gobbler about 60-70 yards out in a field before he caught it with the bird doing everything he could to get away. I was wondering why couldn't the turkey get in the air and how common is this? After seeing this it seems to me it happens more often than we think, because the cat had no trouble catching and killing that gobbler. The turkey also had what I would call a club foot, but it didn't seem to affect his running.
lacountryboy,
It is common. I seen a pile of feathers and the remains of a turkey many times.
