I have a question for those who have been.
It's my first time this February and I'm wondering about signing up for events. It says you have to register for some dinners.
Would just an average turkey nut want to attend the Welcome Dinner, the Grand National Auction or the Awards Dinner?
I think I'm more about visiting vendors, call makers, maybe catch some calling contest action.
I could see going to some of them if I'm representing a Chapter, but I'm not.
Are those dinners something most individual guests skip?
Over the years I've only been to a couple of the dinners. It's vendors for me, probably wouldn't go if not for all the exhibitors and all the neat new stuff on display. Really gets you primed for spring turkey.
Opening dinner is ok, i would do the auction if you are interested in buying stuff, i do not think you would be interested in awards banquet.

I just go to meet folks I don't get to see but a couple times a year. I wouldn't worry about the dinners or the breakfastes.
The best breakfast is at the cracker barrel across the road.
I passed up on all of the event stuff last year and not upset about it.
Thanks folks. I'll be skipping all that stuff.
I mostly want to see all the vendors, see some calling contests and maybe catch a seminar or two.
Gooserbat, maybe I'll see you at the convention AND Cracker Barrel. :icon_thumright:
