Well this Summer is just flying by for me! Fall Turkey season will be here before you know it!
Who's going Fall Turkey hunting?

I fall hunt each year, but it shares time with grouse, deer hunting and trout fishing.
Unfortunately neither state I have licenses for offer fall seasons. Dove to deer to squirrel to grouse before we get back to turkey for me.

Come fall my primary love is bow hunting for a decent buck...and deer in general...time to fill the freezer! I generally fall turkey hunt for no more than a couple days. Luckily, I have a good spot...my primary spring spot...where I've always found fall birds. Now, I spring hunt for toms...good spurs and beards... but fall hunt for table quality. There's no comparison, table-wise, between an adult gobbler, or hen, in the fall as opposed to a bird of the year. Those 5 or 6 month olds melt in your mouth!!
Will have to travel, but look forward to it. It's a totally different vibe. Lots of vocalizations. I was fortunate to kill 2 long beards last Fall. I hope to do the same this Fall, but am not averse to killing a jake if it comes to that. They eat very well and many of them still don't survive until Spring. It's a great time to be in the woods.
The best time to turkey hunt. I'll be out with Bow and gun.

The more years I Turkey hunt, the more I enjoy fall. It's a grind around me. Don't use dogs or anything. Just old school scouting, finding roosts, figuring out a pattern. So much fun. Cover a boatload of habitat devoid of fall birds, but when you find them, it's usually all of them. Great challenge
Yea Falls a good time, it is fun to be there in a different time of the year looking for birds. I went out today to set out some trail cameras today for deer and bumped a hen. I then saw a hen with about 7 poults.
It's a major challenge I think. Like it was said, finding them is the hardest part.
Happy to see there's some guys that give fall hunting a go. It's not spring, but it quenches my thirst a little.

I enjoy the fall season as much as the spring. Where else can you go and hear all the turkey talk from daylight to dark? From gobbles to kee-kees, and gobbler clucks to hens cutts.
Fall is when a well tuned long box really shines, you can mimic the sounds of an entire flock of birds in all age groups.
I will be out this fall season.
I am looking Forward to Fall Turkey Hunting in New York + New Jersey.
I love fall Turkey, I target adult gobblers in fall ,it's the most challenging hunting one can do in my opinion, but that's why I love it. And i love hearing gobbler talk in the fall, bring on October!

It's the best hearing them gobble in the fall!
I went out deer scouting a few days ago, ran into a lone hen, then I ran into a hen with a group of about 7 poults! Got a little video too!

Look forward to it every fall! The gregariousness of fall turkeys would surprise some...and nothing like a gobbler flock to get the blood going!

I want to say I wish Fall hunting was more popular, but the best part is I don't ever run into anyone fall turkey hunting.

Fall has treated me well already with 3 dead gobblers so far
I will be combining archery deer season with turkey season this year. Here in NY Fall turkey season starts a little over half way through Oct. on the seventeenth while archery deer starts Oct. First and both go through the end of the month and archery deer continuing until Nov. twentieth.
It will be my first year trying the two together and I am unsure what to expect.
Was squirrel hunting last Saturday and had a flock gobbling coming my way. I slipped out to the south of them. Come on October.

yes sir I'll be in the fall woods, just 2.5 weeks away. I usually hunt Ohio and Ky, but since they banned us this spring from Ky I will just be in Ohio. I'm not going down and pay full price License to Kentucky for a partial season.
2 more toms were layed to rest this morning! Have to love fall birds that gobble like its spring time coming into the call.
I used to fall hunt alot. As our numbers plummeted and birds disappeared from the landscape I quit hunting them. Now I leave them be and dont allow fall hunting on my property. I wpuld potentially make an exception if a youth wanted a shot at one.
Dang hookhanger, how many tags you get? Paint me envious
Well this year I will have 9 total tags for just 3 states I hunt.( 4-4-1) I am hoping to hit another state or 2 this fall also.
Fall hunting tomorrow morning!
I found a flock last fall. I didn't have time to hunt, but I scouted it.I could get on them, if I get in there in the dark. I've hunted in the fall, sporadically the last 25 years. Its a change from deer hunting, and it's a blast.
Well today was a nightmare! I give them some tree talk then they talk back im thinking all is going as planned. Hear fly down and its pure silence till PUTT behind me 15yds knowing the gig was up i spin and see the gobbler go over the hill as I was drawing up. Well back to the drawing board again.
