Title: Wavy Latex
Post by: GED6531 on January 04, 2016, 06:40:00 PM
This might already be in another thread and if it is, I apologize up front. I got some proph. latex that is wavy and crinkled up. I was wondering if anybody else has ran into this before and if so, if you feel this latex is still good to use for building mouth calls. I know with the proph. being around .025 it is more likely to crinkle up vs.  .003 or thicker latex, but still do not know if this is common. Any input would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

If it's just wrinkled you can still use it. If it has a crease the is almost glued together I don't use it. I also try to make the crease off to the side and not directly in the middle where you are going to call on the latex.

Thanks for the response TRKYHTR. Where do you buy your proph. and other latex from?

I get my prof from Lyle Gilbert from Houndstooh Game Calls. I also get some from pioneer and Mitchell Johnston of Dead End Game Calls.
