Title: Finally did some patterning with thE SP-10
Post by: ElkTurkMan on June 04, 2013, 05:37:51 PM
I fiannly got to do some patterning witht eh SP-10 this weekend.  I shot two different lads and and two different chokes.  The first choke load combo I shot was a kicks.690 and some federal #7's.  I got 221 in a 10" circle at 40 yards.  The next load choke combo was a Rhino .720 and some Nitro 2x5x7 hevi shot Loads.  I got 214 in 10" circle with them. These are definately both great patterns, but to be honest, I was expecting more pellets in the 10" cirlce.  I hope that doesn't sound foolish, but I have been reading all kinds of stories of guys getting upwards to 300 count.  Anyway I am pleased with both patterns, and I am going to do some more tinkering around at various yardages, before I decide which to stick with.  If I ahd to pick right now it would be the federal sa dn the kicks .690 not just because of the slightly higher pellet count, but to me it through abetter more even pattern.  I am having a heck of time right now finding the federal #7's in 10 GA.   Also guys my barrell has never been polished and this was an extremely humid day with temps in the low 80"s.  Thanks in advance guys for any comments or advice.

I don't see anything wrong with either of those patterns
