Title: Don't shoot till you see the whites of their eyes!

Several teams are on the board. For you guys that are doing this for the first time hold on to your hats!
Many of us open up on the 4th. More than likely we will have a pile of turkeys the first week. If it seems like we are behind, that is good incentive to to kill some birds.

Yeah mine don't start till the 4th. I'm going crazy seeing other teams post birds. I just dont have the time to be able to go to other states to hunt early

I'm trying my hardest, every day off I can squeeze out I'm hunting from daylight to about 1pm, taking a break, and hitting the woods again about 6 until dark. These Georgia birds are covered up in hens and they're not making it easy. There was zero roost gobbling this morning, I made two sets in likely areas and cold called until 12:15 when I had to go pick up my daughter. Didn't raise a single gobble. Heard one very distant bird probably a half mile or better away, definitely wasn't gobbling at me. It's been tough hunting so far.

Yep. I shot a jake by accident and it was my first bird of the year. I upgraded twice but that jake would have made a difference push come to shove.
