Ok, guys I'm getting ready to place my order with Brian. I thought I knew what wood I wanted but I would like to see some different woods. So please post some pics of your Mero trumpets.
Thanks
I don't have a picture of my Mero desert ironwood but I think it is a great looking and playing call. You can get in touch with him and he can probably show you some pictures of different woods.
From just looking at different woods I'm leaning towards Snakewood, desert ironwood or Kingwood.

I've got a Snakewood with "white stuff" mouth piece and a Black Locust with horn.
Don't have any pictures but Brian makes a top shelf trumpet for sure.
Kingwood with Delrin MP and Steve Lumma ferrule.
African Blackwood is a great choice so is kingwood. I'm partial to cocobolo myself but I think snakewood is probably about as pretty a wood you can get.
African blackwood with filigree carving on the bell... beautiful trumpet...
I bought a mopani / delrin from Brian and it sounds great.
These things are like musical instruments. Clarinets are generally made from african blackwood or a rosewood. Some are made from vulcanized rubber. If you want something different consider boxwood or bois d'arc. Boxwood has been used for woodwinds. Bois d'arc is common tonewood.
I think as long as the mouthpiece is hard like bone or acrylic and the wood can be whatever you like.
