Was watching Lord of the Rings, Return of the King tonight. Probably my favorite movie ever on the big screen.
This scene gave me chill bumps at the movies. Wondering what everyone elses favorites were

This scene gave me chill bumps at the movies.
Yep id say so. :icon_thumright:
Any of the Bond Movies, especially the older ones like Live and Let Die. John Wayne and Clint Eastwood movies are true classics to watch and difficult to just pick one but as far as scenery on the big screen goes then I would have to go with Dances With Wolves or Jeremiah Johnson.
The Dark Knight comes in a close second for me.
Jeremiah Johnson or Dances with Wolves. :you_rock:
Fast Times at Ridgemont High. The scene with Phoebe Cates getting out of the pool was fantastic on the big screen. Yep...that's definitely in my top 10. ;)
One you all probably do not remember, the Wild Geese with Roger Moore, Richard Burton, Hardy Kruger, and Richard Harris. Story about mercenaries in Africa.
Great clip from Lord of the Rings. It would be hard to nail my favorites down to a few. The movie that I've watched the most over the years was Quiet Man with John Wayne. Just loved that movie, and never get tired of watching it.
Mine would be a movie called, Where The Red Fern Grows .
Way to many to list just one.... If I had to call it I would have to say JAWS!
I like Jeremiah Johnson. Some of the dialouge just cracks me up.
"Skin that one pilgrim, and I'll get you another!"
"I, Hatchet Jack, being of sound mind and broke legs, do hereby leaveth my bear rifle to whatever finds it, Lord hope it be a white man. It is a good rifle, and killt the bear that killt me. Anyway, I am dead. Yours truly, Hatchet Jack."
Lord of the Rings trilogy was great! Just watched the first one again a couple of weeks ago. A memorable scene for me was when the hobbits were hiding under the tree roots where the black riders stopped to smell for them...

The special effects of the horses breath was so eerie...
I love westerns. One that stands out for me was made in the 50's (before my time) and featured my all time favorite actor, Jimmy Stewart. The movie was Bend In the River.

My favorite line from the movie was :
Emerson Cole: I'll be seeing you, Glyn.
Glyn McLyntock: You'll be seeing me. You'll be seeing me. Everytime you bed down for the night, you'll look back to the darkness and wonder if I'm there. And some night, I will be. You'll be seeing me!
One more of my favorites was Blackhawk Down. I wish I had seen it in the theatre, but surround sound at home isn't too bad. A memorable visual was where the shell casings were raining down on the roof out of the mini-gun. That is some serious firepower!
Gotta say Jerermiah Johnson is number one.
Band Of Brothers and "The Blues Brothers" although many years ago I really enjoyed Sidney Potier in My Brother Joshua. I think.????
Where The Red Fern Grows !!
vaturkey :newmascot:
Just watched -Where Eagles Dare -love that movie ,I like Old War movies
Ive only seen the 1st lord of the rings , maybie I'll go watch it again
As Kid I loved all the George Lucas Movies , I think {Raiders of the Lost Arc} is a classic - If they re did that in 3-D on the big screen that would be cool - The same for the first 3 star wars would be a good idea - Our family loves the Harry Potter movies - I also liked the new Robin Hood movie that came out last year
If I hit the Power Ball lotto I think I would get a pimp shack made up with a life size move theater with a big screen - no popcorn , I cant stand popcorn

no popcorn , I cant stand popcorn
I like popcorn when "I" eat it but can't stand when people behind me eat it like a horse eating corn with their mouth wide open.... one of those little personal issues I have...

You need to go get the other two. Get the extended version if possible. They only get better.
I have to admit....Kung FU Panda 2 in 3D a few weeks ago with the kids was pretty awesome on the big screen. I had forgotten about Pearl Harbor. When they make the attack is unreal with the stereo systems the theater has. Kinda like Black Hawk Down...you hear the bullets pinging and whizzing by.
The Outlaw Josey Whales
The orginal and only, in my mind, True Grit
I like a wide range of movies from westerns like unforgiven and lonesome dove to sci-fi like terminator and predators saga, star wars, movies like saving private Ryan and force 10 from navarone, full metal jacket.
All time favorite is also Lord of the rings. I guess maybe because it was the first sci fi book I read as a kid along with the hobbit. Anticipating the new prequel hobbit movie which is being made now. Scheduled for release in late 2012.
My favorite is definatly Shawshank Redemption with the new Avatar(in 3-D) a close second.
GREASE is the WORD.... lol :TooFunny:
.....although not my favorite who can forget Saving Private Ryan on the big screen. Felt like those bullets were flying overhead.
The Shawshank Redemption was awesome, seen it many times but love the lord of the rings trilogy, own all three and have seen them a lot also. I think the movie the hobbit is coming out in a year or two. Not sure when. Scoot
I like all kinds of Movies. Most of which have been mentioned here. My kids on the other hand would all tell you that their favorite movie would be "The Goonies". I bet that movie was played in my house 100 times when they were young.
TRKYHTR
The first JAWS.
Another good one is The Green Mile.
The Green Berets
Kelly's Heroes
Porky's
Blazing Saddles
Jerimiah Johnson
Cool Hand Luke
Its true ,I bought buy Annie the special edition Grease movie a few years ago its her favorite
Like Joe she loves Goonie's - I also like Force 10 from Navarone , not sure if Harrison Ford Starred in that before the Star Wars and Indian Jones Movies but I think so?
Apocalypse Now is another great one , top notch cinematography and scored with good music - the two best scenes are{ Ride of the Valkyries }when they ran the raid on Charlies Point in a helicopter battle , and the opening credits where the hotel room/ Napalm Attach with Jim Morrison's {This is the End}
I love old war movies - Bridge over Rive Kwai , The Great Escape , Battle of Britain are few more great ones -
;D I knew I should have mentioned a movie after 1952 to not date myself :TooFunny:
Braveheart,Gladiator,and Jeremiah Johnson.
DieHard, Live Free and DieHard, Just Friends, The Proposal

Tombstone

MY ALL TIME favorite movie (never saw it on the big screen...unless you count our 50" at home) is
IN THE NAME OF THE FATHER...... then again.. anything with Daniel Day Lewis I love... (Last of the Mohicans is AWESOME too!)
*can't wait for him to play Abraham Lincoln --should be coming soon!*
#1....Dances With Wolves

Others on my list that I really enjoyed:
Jaws, Open Range, Braveheart, The Graduate, Alien, Lord of the Rings (all three), Saving Private Ryan, War of the Worlds, Avatar, Water World, The Postman, Groundhog Day, Last of the Mohicans, The Last Samurai, Americas Sweethearts, Love Actually
