Prayers sent Prohunter. I will also lift you and your surgeon up on Monday as well.
I wouldn't be so quick to get rid of the 35. Most retinal detachment is a cause of the aging process, surgery to the eye or diabetes. I'm 62 and have been nearsighted since I was around 6. My eye doctor, that I see every year, has instructed me to be on the look out for the symptoms of a retinal tear for several years and most of the symptoms are from a thinning of the retina. Here's a great read https://www.mayoclinic.org/diseases-conditions/retinal-detachment/symptoms-causes/syc-20351344 I would read up on retinal detachment and have a discussion with your surgeon and or eye doctor with plenty of questions. My thing with you saying the 35 caused the injury from recoil, what is a 12 gauge shooting turkey loads going to do in the future?
Praying for you brother.

God has this Prohunter!! Your surgeon will be lead by God and this surgery will go Very Well for you. Just listen to your doctor and follow his post surgery recovery instructions and you'll be back behind a gun real soon with restored eye sight. Our requirement is to give it to God and don't rush the recovery process. Praying for you to have a full recovery with no anxiety.

God bless, prayers for you. On a confidence building note, I had 4 eye surgeries last year. 2 macular holes repaired in my retinas. Very similar to detached retinas. Then I had cataract surgery in each eye. The good news is I see perfectly, and you will too my friend. Best of luck, you will be out there chasing our feathered friends.
Prayers for full and speedy recovery
Prayers! Get well soon!

Prayers sent for a successful and full recovery.
I lost some hearing from the same 35tc a few years back.
Prohunter, wanted to bring this back to the top to see how the detached retina surgery is progressing. It's been 2 weeks so give us an update.
I'll be praying for you. Get well, heal up and get back in the woods!! :icon_thumright:

Thanks coach for aasking
I got a great report Friday from my dr.
He said in 5 weeks I can shoot a gun again but not before
I think I will be all timid about that.
I am shooting a 20 gauge so that will help
I do. Know I am selling the 35 whelen
But if you will keep praying I am ready to get back going
Yards to cut and turkeys to shoot lol
Thanks for asking
Excellent NEWS! Paul tells us in Philippians 4:6-7 The Lord is at hand, do not be anxious about anything but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving, let your requests be known to God. And the peace of God, which passes all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. Our Prayers are with you for a complete recovery!
Glad to hear things are going well.
