Here's a batch of stoned aluminums I just finished up. This was the first time I've used stoned aluminum and I'm very pleased with the sound.
I made a stoned aluminum over glass in tigerwood (goncalo alves), walnut and zebrawood.

I think you could take a twig to a rock and probably make it sound pretty good though...Lol.. :you_rock:

I agree with you on the walnut although the tigerwood is a very close second. I'm hoping the zebrawood gets raspier once it's completely dry.
It would need to be the right rock and twig combo

Mine arrived in the mail yesterday and the call is beautiful, craftsmanship superb, with a sound that is over the top. I am extremely pleased with this purchase.
