Today I picked up an 870 SP Bottomland with a manufacture date of April 1993..
Pretty fired up, especially for the price Imgot it for . Picked it up in a pawn shop for $240.00!!!!
Have been looking for the right 870 for a turkey build , got her now.
Fast Fire with speedbead ordered ...
Spec Ops Gen III ordered ...
Let the games begin !!!!!
Can't to get her done and begin to pattern...
Congrats on your find. They are sweet shootin guns. Maybe a typo but i assure you it wasnt made in 1963. Mossy oak wasnt even formed until 86, much less a sp or express. Maybe you just typed wrong lol but i assure its not made in 63 lol. You stole that thing for 240! Heck of a deal!
Id keep it how it is, role you some 9s and let it eat! Congrats on your find!

I think it was a pretty good deal. I 'll try to get some pictures posted in the next day or so.
Does any body know what barrel lengths the Bottomland SP Mag was offered in?
21 26 an 28 i believe
I think they were offered in 26 and 28". The 21" I believe were the sps-t model. (Could be wrong). Bought mine (26") new sometime around 1995. Been a great gun. Busted the stock a few years after I bought it so now it's original bottomland/breakup!

Numerich Gun Parts still carries the Original Bottomland stock. Part #1164650. $76.50. They even carry the Original Greenleaf 870 Forearm-Part #1584600-$24.95. They did carry the Original Greenleaf stock but I bought the last one they had.

Got Spec Ops III in today
That's a swwwweeeeeet gun! You did good on that one!
Thanks...
Its got a couple of spots on the stock that the paint is missing but overall in great shape.
Is it almost March yet????
Saw another like it on Gunbroker last week...
I stopped bidding on it at $370.00 and reserve was still not met...
congrats on a heck of a steal
This gun is on gunbroker now for sale with a higher than $375 reserve
Trkyhnter68, I decided to do a 870 20 gauge build instead of building on the 870 Bottomland .
But would like to find a Greenleaf ...
:TrainWreck1:I know where there is one but the guy wants stupid money for it. If he would come down within reason, it would be in my safe already but he wants too much I think
PM sent Poppa
I should have mentioned that I got to thinking it would be a shame to modify that great old school gun as well... I had bought a Spec Ops and FF3, w Speed Bead for it was going to end up putting a shorter barrel on it, etc...
So I figured, " Heck, I have an 870 20 gauge youth in the safe, I'll work with that".
Figured I would sell the 870 Original Bottomland for help pay for the upgrades on the 20 ga.
