I just bought two Super Yelper scratch boxes on my travels to a vacation spot. Mr. Shively is a super nice guy who stopped what he was doing to sell me a couple of hand picked scratchers. Two with a distinctly different sound. He took the time to show me how to run his calls correctly and gave me first hand accounts of their ability to kill turkeys. After a little practice they are very easy to play and are all turkey.
Congrats! They are a killer little scratch box.
I have a couple nice sound good an fit in your shirt pocket

I have one cedar and one walnut. IMO hard to beat a scratch box. They sound great, weigh almost nothing, are compact and fit in a shirt pocket. I really like mine for fall hunting too.
I have a walnut and purple heart good little calls, need to get a cedar next.

I was fortunate to stumble across a batch of his old scratchers with the earliest stamp "Rt. 2" . New old stock that have been riding the store shelf for about 40 years! His calls sound great and now I have a 40th Year Anniversary chestnut call ordered to go with them!
I have one made out of cherry, I had one made out of Cedar years ago when he first started making them killed quite a few turkeys with its use then I broke it. I believe I paid $10 for the first one I owned, it's been awhile they are deadly little calls though.
I recently picked up a walnut Super Yelper.
Am really liking the clucks with this particular scratch box...
Many years ago I was at a small sportsman show in western PA. Richard Shively and his wife were there selling his calls. I ended up buying 3 calls from him, cedar call, cherry call and a walnut call. Talked to them a lot. Very nice people.
