I believe the element doesn't come drilled and tapped...which I don't understand since the bottomland version is a turkey specific gun.   So.. you get drilled and tap, or do a rib-type mount

Do the rib style mounts hold ok? Any recommendations for a mount

Personally, I would never use a rib mount. Just doesn't seem secure to me, plus I like the red dot back more on the receiver.   I would get it tapped, just back 2 holes are needed. Get a flat mount (sumtoy, etc) and throw a Fast Fire or Vortex red dot on it.

Meadow Creek rib mount is awesome and it will give you a great field of view with a dot sight ....

As stated Meadow Creek mounts will hold! I fell in Mexico last year going up a mountain wash and fell hard so hard that I thought hurt my elbow bad but luckily I was able to shake it off. I got my Gould's and it still holding good. I shot it this year to make sure sight was still on and it had not moved any and I went to Florida and got my Osceola.
