Good idea reflexl.  I'm a bit reluctant to show everybody just how old a dude I am, but here is a photo from a couple of days ago...  ;)

..and a couple more from today (seems time flies by and I haven't aged well...   ;D )

Gosh, do you want pictures from the archives of time, like when I was skinny and had hair? I'll have to do some digging and find some good ones.

;D

Never had it that bad,
but did go thru a time when the best I could do was glue 4-5 paper plates to the bottom of each foot, it wasn't too bad and about the time you were done hunting the glue let loose

For this round I'll post birds I didn't pull the trigger on

1. The first bird I ever called in for my dad
2. Youth hunters first gobbler with a view of Catskills
3. Incredible weekend for a wounded warrior hunt 21 hunters 18 birds in 2 days
4. One of those birds wanted to die mornings, shot a bird at fly down for myself, picked up a youth hunter and called a trio of gobblers on on a string before 9, found my father and his friend at a diner and convinced them to make a late morning run, worked up a double for them before noon
5. This one needs full write up but a hard earned bird for a 73yr old veteran and a 6min flash hunt to end the day for myself
6. First gobbler for the younger brother of youth hunter in picture #2, I've been able to take 4 of the family's 6 children to see their first turkey flop
7. My wife with a tom while she was 5 months with our first child
8. Wife with a gobbler on our 11th wedding anniversary

Missing a ton of pics from past Vet and youth hunts that must be on old phones (https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20220305/bc47dc0eff12e49400511ba04c0d9017.jpg)(https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20220305/bca28da524145b1c039b3f484609d65b.jpg)(https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20220305/ceb69ed6cf5d371615d5b2caf52e3e1b.jpg)(https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20220305/b8f02113c459e46952306b5811e4fbb5.jpg)(https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20220305/680681d21e07d5682807675d2419b0f3.jpg)(https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20220305/edbc6da25a5a724c996f051780ea61fd.jpg)(https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20220305/96d7cf609e578955dc331d72e7d7f43d.jpg)(https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20220305/692b17baa6c904652534a44ed655ee7b.jpg)

Top Middle was my first Florida DIY public land non-quota bird in '19
Middle photo was an Archery bird I took on in HI... not on the big island... already said too much
Bottom middle is a BC gobbler, contemplated grabbing it as it walked within 3 steps of me straight on
Top right was a limb hanger from southern, OR
Middle right a double bearded, first and only multi-beard bird I've shot
Bottom right just another day double

here you go my 50+ years of turkey hunting in pictures
Top left to right:
1.)My guesswho bird

2.)One of my first turkeys. All the earlier pic are on slides. Yeah I was once that skinny and that's how I dressed hunting

3.) Our first double morning with my best turkey hunting buddy (1980)

4.) An early 80s bird

5.) One of my best overall birds ever. Two huge beards over 11", 1 7/16 spurs and almost 22 pounds. With a good story.

6) My only personal double, two rios in Oklahoma 2010. Both nice birds 22 and 23.5 pounds, good spurs and beards.

7.) Our Osceola double in 2012

I decided not to post the whole album of, well just a few more pics

I have killed several in the rain. If the birds are game so am I. I actually do dry them before weighing them. I let them ride down the road on my carryall. Dries them right out. Fluffs them too!

Took that one with my Grandfathers 1875 Remington and Son's 10 gauge double barrel.
I'm the third generation to take game with it.  Dad and my Uncle Don were tickled to death.  They goose and pheasant hunted
with that gun when they were boys.  Not sure how they carried it.  It weighs a ton.  It's going in the safe for my
oldest nephew now.  It's his gun to take game with.

Thanks.  My Grandfather got that gun during the first depression.  Been in the family ever since.

West Augusta-great pic, love that shotgun and I think it's great that you/your family are carrying on that tradition.

Now that's cool.   I love pictures with some history involved.
