I loved the old federal HW#7. But after not being able to get them anymore, I have decided to load my own. A lot of research and help from a special gentlemen, I am ecstatic. (https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20210331/808327d4fe7dbbf1e0dc97f47a3ab763.jpg)

really nice pattern, one of the best I can remember seeing with the 7's, and 1 3/8oz to boot

I tried the load that ballistic products had listed on their website,
it was a nice waterfowl or pheasant load but not a strong enough 10" for turkey hunting for what I was looking for

I experienced the same thing. A little help from an old time loader got me straightened out.

You cracked that case! :OGturkeyhead:
Awesome
Looks a little strung to me and you have some holes in the pattern to be honest. Are you buffering and if so how much and what type? Are you star or roll crimping and what wad are you running and are you slitting it yourself and how many slots and how close to the wad ring?

Your pattern looks fine. It will kill turkeys all day. Very nice!
Loading your own. Nice accomplishment. Good luck!
I think I'd try a more open choke.
That's a dead turkey!
Looks like a dead turkey to me.
Looks good, but I bet if you tried a Rem SF .572, or a Carlson's .575 you would be pleasantly surprised.
