Title: Kingwood Trumpet
Post by: gergg on May 23, 2020, 09:23:48 PM
Finished this one recently, man, Kingwood is great stuff for a trumpet. I have a large billet of Kingwood that has been sitting in my storage room for many years, was fun cutting into it last week. Here are some pics, love the striping and cool color.

Pictures just don't do this thing justice. It is absolutely a work of art and plays amazingly. Anybody in the market for a trumpet I highly recommend Gregg!!!

Hey, thanks everyone, always fun cutting into some cool wood. Here are a few more blanks I squared up from the same billet as this trumpet. Shows some Flat/Rift/Quarter sawn edges for comparison.

Good looking stuff, like this middle boards, especially the bottom one. Or are they the same one?

Yeah, same blanks different sides. The center blank has quarter/rift-sawn grain as well on the other 2 sides.
