Title: Burris FF3 dot size??
Post by: 3seasons on March 23, 2013, 11:56:09 PM
Ok my here's another question for y'all.  Which dot is better the 3moa or the 8moa.

Here's my dilemma; I have a bushnell trophy on my 12 and it has the multiple rectical and I use the one that has the outer circle and a center dot  it's awesome because that outer circle is the size of my pattern at distances out to 60yds I know. I like it because when that old bird gets in close and I'm shaking like a leaf as long as his head is in the outer circle he's toast.

Now I know I can't get that rectical in the FF but was thinking about the 8moa and if the larger dot would be better or would it actually hender your view and a shot.

What's your thoughts

JMO but I think an 8 MOA is too large.

Either 3 or 8 MOA are okay for turkeys.  The 8 MOA can be used as "rangefinder"  on a turkey's head.  At 50 yards, 8 MOA covers a circle 4" in diameter.  If the "dot" fits inside his head, he's inside 40 yards for sure.  My dots are 3, 6.5, 7.5 and 8--Aimpoint, Trijicon, Doctor and FFIII.
