Didn't hear any gobbling, but called in three hens to 15 yards and got to watch them groom/preen themselves. Was expecting to see a black feather ball come in out of the corner of my eyes, but he never showed.
Hunted this evening in the same place. Never saw the hens, but had a gobbler answer at 5:59. Heard him drum in front and to my right over the knoll and never could see him!! Eventually had crunching leaves behind me and 2 gobblers came walking around and to my left side. 6:10pm and the first one is down. Had to wait for his buddy to ease off, before I could get up.
