Title: Mossberg 500 red dot?
Post by: Hunt4spurs87 on December 21, 2018, 09:32:17 PM
I've got an old 500 in woodland camo, 24in barrel ported and I absolutely love this gun. Looking for rail and red dot recommendations since the receiver is drilled and tapped. Was thinking of a vortex venom or Burris fast fire 3?

Either will work.  I put a Weaver rail on my 500 and mounted a Vortex Sparc 2, but a Venom or FF3 would be just fine.

Got mine all worked out Burris 336 base with the FF3 (https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20190104/32a42307f315e257f0f9cabfaf59c003.jpg)

My 30+ yo old Mossy isn't tapped, so I use an old Weaver mount. Put a camo'd TRS-25 on her and love it! Many, many boxes of turkey loads through it without a problem. And great battery life. Also use TRS-25's on my old No4Mk1 303 Brit and K31 7.5x55 Deer rifles. Having successfully hunted with them in all weather conditions, rain, snow, freezing temps, I am more than impressed. A great value product in my experience.

Be well
