Title: Help with Sight
Post by: 5arraquiver on September 11, 2019, 04:02:06 PM
I purchased a Stoeger M3020 for this last springs turkey season.  I love the gun and I did get a very nice pattern out of it.  I have always been just a single bead at the end of the barrel shooter.  It works well for this gun as well but I really have to position the gun and my head properly to get into position.  I had a quick shot at a close range bird on a spot and stalk hunt and completely whiffed him.
What I notice with this gun is that when I just place the gun into natural position I see a lot of the flat surface of the rib and I do not feel like I am aiming accurately this way.  I love the gun and the way it shoots but I need a better sight option.  Should I consider a tru glo rifle type sight or go for the red dot?
If anyone had any helpful suggestions or opinions I'd appreciate them.  Thanks and God bless!

If you do not want to drill and tap, the williams adjustable sight works very well and they will put the green dot up front and red in the rear if you like. Very well made sight. Red dot is a excellent option as well but will require a gunsmith unless your shotgun came optic ready. Most people use Fastfire 3 or the vortex. A rib mount red dot will cost a lot more but the  red dot is just about the same height as your bead, it's just adjustable.

This will explain the problem. Your gun should have a shim kit...

Welcome...
It's surprising how a small shim can make as much difference as it does, but it does.
Hope it solves your problem...
