Title: Browning maxus with 3.5" 2oz longbeard xr #6
Post by: Mottledcitizen on March 10, 2014, 10:20:33 AM
I shot my Bronwing maxus this weekend with a 28" barrel using a tru glo tg176x gobbler stopper choke (.665 restriction) at 40 yds shooting winchester longbeard xr 3.5" 2oz #6. I was impressed with the pattern got 241 hits at 40 yds in a 10" circle. what do you guys think?

I think if it takes overkill to kill a turkey you still killed 'em.

That's great I think if u moved the circle up a little you would have even better numbers

Looks like Beaks will be busted for sure. I'm shooting long beard X 6s from a maxus all purpose 26" barrel and a Carlson .655. It's a hell of a pattern at 40 yrds too

Should work. What does it look like at 25-30 yards?

Looks like a great pattern, but shooting a tick high.

I would try shooting at 20 & 30 yds. yet and see if your shooting high on them from POA. If you are then I would adjust my sights more to the center of your pattern.

You can try 3".

Remember just cause your gun can shoot 3.5" shells, doesn't mean it likes them!

I would stick with that aim for The base of the neck and get ready for some fried turkey nuggets lol  :newmascot:
