Patterned my new Escort PS 20 youth, 22" barrel with Apex and Federal TSS #9's. All shots at 40 yards and pellets counted in 10" circle. Very happy with the results!
Apex 9 Carlson 575 363
Apex 9 Carlson 565 324
Fed 9 Carlson 575 220
Fed 9 Carlson 565 213
I have a Trulock 585 on the way, I'll add it on here once I pattern.
I have a trulock 585 in the same gun. Great even patterns with the apex 1 5/8 #9's
Another data point showing the inferiority of Federal's FCW.
Right! And they were $25 more a box
I shoot the Trulock 585 out of mine with hand loads...you'll like it. I haven't counted numbers but it was a good enough pattern for me not try any more.
How is your trigger? Mine is horrible. I have to find something to do about this off-season.

I've only shot the gun probably 10 times but I haven't noticed any issue with it, but I'm also not real gun savy
How do you like the Escort shotguns? I have been tempted to buy one. My son is left handed and we just saw a Charles Daly left hand 20 ga w/ 22" barrel.
I would buy another. The pattern with hand loads and Trulock is strong but I don't count pellets.
As I mentioned, my trigger has a lot of creep but I've only shot it 100 times maybe so that could improve over time. I'm going to replace it.

I agree. Its a good gun for the money. I got lucky with my trigger, its exceptional. The fit and finish leaves something to be desired but is a cheap gun. Not a fan of the magazine cut off switch.
I finally got to hold the Escort PS youth 20 gauge while we travelled over the Holidays to NY. I was impressed with how it handled and shouldered.
Regrettably, Santa had already delivered my little boy a Charles Daly 601 compact 20 gauge. My little boy preferred the Charles Daly, but I think the escort is a better feeling gun.
I have the Escort PS Turkey Hunter / auto in 410 and it's a good gun for the money ... NO complains ...

I have been very reluctant to pull the trigger on the 410. I have always heard the 410 was extremely difficult to get to function flawlessly and only the high end 410s were worth it.
As a teenager with a rabbit beagle the only 410 auto loader was the Remington 1100- our LGS had one that he would not sell my dad as it would not cycle reliably and had been back to Remington a number of times.
35 years later I have the SA 410 from Mossberg and have only shot it a dozen times, it runs like a sewing machine
