Post by: NC_10 on August 16, 2014, 02:28:02 PM
Came across a H&R Model 176 10 Gauge 3.5" Full Choke, 36" Barrel In a gun shop the other day was wondering if anyone had any info on this gun as far as pattering and performance.

Thanks

Put a micrometer in the end of the barrel and if it is .720 like mine it is going to be a mediocre performer. Lots of 20 gauges shooting Fed HWT 7 will outperform it. I sent mine off to get threaded and am still trying to perfect it. It is a turkey killer, but it does not post big numbers. Also, check the trigger on it. Every model 176 I have seen has had an awful trigger.
