Looking to add a long box to collection. Any recommendations, suggestions for call maker and wood combo's ? Thanks....
Al Shoemaker you cannot go wrong but I would also add Jeff McKamey of Twisting Creek Game Calls. My Kwila/Butternut is top notch.

If you are really serious about a long box but don't have much experience with one you may consider picking up a used one on this site. There are some great deals to come along if you keep your eyes open.

SS makes great boxes, Jeff McKameys are pretty good too. Both great companies to deal with as well

I strongly agree with this too. Both make awesome long boxes.
Spring Creek on this forum makes a good long box for the money...reasonable price...

I have that box and it's very good. Lots of fellows say it's a favorite. I like his bloodwood/mineral poplar better and a friend had similar results. Both very good calls and everyone likes dif things in a call

X2 And I would add Marlin Watkins. For a lid I like Bloodwood.
Check out Dan Harris' longboxes. He'll be at Unicoi. Play one and you'll want one.
Al and Josh at SS Custom makes an awesome long box and you do`nt have to wait a long time.
Jeff McKamey boxes are always good. Short, long or anything in between.
