Title: No sling studs on Mossberg SA20 youth?
Post by: beagler on February 11, 2020, 01:43:10 PM
I see the Mossy SA20 youth doesn't come with sling studs. Any one of you gentlemen have one and what did you use?

hey,

My ten gauge didn't have them either and I didn't want to drill into the stock. I bought something similar to the below.

My 870 compact didn't either. Mine is a wood stock. I simply bought the stud and screwed it into the stock. Googled instructions for location etc and drill bit size. I bought a new magazine cap that had the stud in it already.

Its a 5 minute project to put swivels in.  Its worth it.  Ive tried the slings made to be used with no swivels and they just drive me nuts

If it's a synthetic stock, drill a hole and use a machine screw type stud. If it's wood, go with a regular wood screw stud. As for the front, go with a barrel band or drill a hole in the magazine cap to put a shortened machine screw stud type.
