I was wondering if there was any difference between chalk for box calls...Any preferred types or if one color (white, blue, brown) was better than any of the others? The box call I have came with a piece of white chalk and sounds great, but I've also heard of brown being the best or people even having success with pine resin. Thanks for your input!
I have got dark blue..light blue..grey..red..light green and white...can't really say one is better than another..usually stick to the color that the callmaker has on his box..might be just me but if a box is real raspy ..blue to me makes it run smoother...lol..
The red brick chalk is the best imo if you can find some.
I like rain chalk.

This right here. I have a 3 lifetime supply of it. It last longer than any other that ive used, seems to have more bite and slightly changes the sound of the call.
Who makes or sells the red brick chalk?

Thanks merriamsman.
Has anyone tried the black chalk from griebel game calls?
Marlin Watkins uses the railroad chalk. It works for him and does for me too!

Always used the brown chalk
I have used the brown, white and red chalk before, all sound fine but I feel that the red chalk grips a little better if you know what I mean and I like how in makes the calls play the most.
Some calls like red. Some blue
