I am looking to pick up a new long box for $200 or less. I don't care if it's a field grade because I am looking for sound, play ability and versatility. Thanks for your reponses.

Dan Wittenberg Longbox!!!! Unbelievable quality and in that $165-175 range and also comes with a nice easy wearable durable carry holster,,turns them out fast to.
there are cheaper ones but I think the best value longbox out there, if he did the turkey shows where people could see and play them he'd have a waiting list 5 years long.

Ernie Fetter's longbox , he makes one of the best for the money.. you can get one for around 125 dollars shipped and you will not be disappointed in the sound and quality of his longboxes. Ernie has been making calls for a long time with lot's of history behind his call building ...

I have one from Dan Wittenberg, coming Monday. Heard a lot of good things.

If $200 is your range, you will certainly end up with a quality long box that will hunt for a lifetime and then some.

Any of the above callmakers noted are excellent choices, and I would recommend adding Billy Bush, Marlin Watkins, Ralph Snodgrass, and Jeff McKamey to your list.
A quality paddle caller will most run itself.  It just needs someone to carry it around the woods. Yoder409

I don't see SS in the list. They make some pretty awesome boxes too. His Bloodwood butternut is fantastic. I'd start right there.

My vote goes to Dan Wittenberg.

Thank you for the responses!! I currentl have SS Kwilla/ Butternut which I really like and a Spring Creek Paduch/.Red Cedar which I like as well, but these are regular box calls. Looking to add a long box to my arsenal. The box call has become my favorite type of call. To my ear it it sounds most like a turkey.
