2024 Strut Stoppers / PA tag punched!Last post by wvhoyt19 - Today at 04:55:24 PMMy buddy and i pulled a double on opening day in PA. I set a blind up last night after we watched 3 strutters head to roost as the forecast was calling for rain and the weatherman was right. Birds may have been pretty quiet on the limb but with the rain beating on the blind it was hard to tell. We got a small break about 45 min in but the rain picked back up. We seen a 2 hr window of a break in the weather so we kicked back for the next hour as we watched the field. Shortly after the rain stopped, we heard a gobbler in the distance but within range. I sporadically called as he answered and then we heard 2 fire off at the same time! Within minutes we were counting 1...2...pull. God blessed us with a PA opening morning double!!

Box Calls / Re: Best ChalkLast post by gdc23 - Today at 04:37:17 PMQuote from: Ches. on March 07, 2023, 04:38:07 PMOk, just so many options and no clear winner as far as I read it. I clean my paddle, put new chalk on the tune if it is not sounding right to my ear. Maybe that's the wrong approach but the one I have been using. I was using the Primos Red chalk, but just got a 6 pack of the half moon blue carpenters chalk. It powders very easy on application and sounds good to me.There really cant be a winner it's all what your looking for to get out of a particular box. To me David Halloran blue chalk produces extreme friction, but for some of my boxes I dont want that much grip. It's all about finding combos that work well together and provide the sound your looking for #20
Turkey Guns / Re: Bottomland 870Last post by Tom007 - Today at 04:32:22 PM#6 Longbeards are fine shells. If you can find the 1-7/8 ounce magnum loads, they are killer...Good luck with it!
