Headed westward today for my first hunt of the year that begins Saturday. Going to a pretty remote location that has very little phone service, so I may be out of touch for a few days. I'll check in if I can (probably by text), but it may be early next week before I get back to civilization. Best of luck to all who are hunting,...and to all of you who are still hanging out here and waiting,..."hold down the fort". :icon_thumright:
And Oh yeah,...don't let up on the other teams! ;D :angel9:
I wish you luck my friend! Nail a big one, be safe......
Have a safe and successful hunt, just not to successful.. :anim_25:
I know you didnt like where I was hunting last year but dont be afraid to give it a look again!
You're already out of touch with reality, few more days won't make a difference.
Hope you have a good safe successful trip, try not to sink our new boat
Good luck!
Best of luck and have fun.
Good luck and, above all else, stay safe and have fun.
Good luck!!
Good luck bro :smiley-patriotic-flagwaver-an :fud: Z
Good luck to hobblednuts today.
Just keep in mind. If I wasn't so busy taking care of things in preparation for turkey season and keeping myself in suck amazing, gobbler killing shape. I would be making a meme right now of a car full of GOATS, driving by and mooning you guys.

:TooFunny: We'd have to change our names to the puking flock, you'd probably take us all out in one drive by.
We try to kill humanely.
Oh your killing alright...
That's how I find my way back to the truck after a morning hunt. Improves my tracking skills.
:TooFunny: :TooFunny:
I'M backkkk,...and glad to see things have not changed since my departure.
Report on my first effort of the season:
The basic summary,...I am home empty-handed again (kind of getting used to it nowadays). ;D ::)
The general "specifics",...LOTS of turkeys, terrible weather, too many hunters, and birds weren't "ready". We saw unbelievable numbers of turkeys, including lots of gobblers, but they were still in their winter separate flocks of hens, jakes, and mature gobblers,...and they had no interest in mingling with anybody else but their flock-mate buddies. We never saw a mature gobbler strut or show any signs of interest in breeding the entire trip (I knew going in that we might be hunting too early,...which definitely proved to be the case).
Bottom line is that old GobbleNut wasn't up to the task of killing a gobbler under the conditions at hand,...and quite honestly, did not really care to kill on under those circumstances.
I could go back at the end of this week, and probably would if I KNEW the birds were changing their attitudes, but it is just a bit too far for this old boy to go on the whim of wishful thinking. As it is, it is just another chapter to be added to my history of chasing these birds,...and another lesson learned.
For those interested, they can see the full, sordid details in the GobbleNut 2023 Journal.... ;D
Goats are stubborn so stay on it bro. Z
Glad your home safe.
I'd go back and gobble and Jake yelp at them if they don't want to play nice.
Have had fall gobblers come in gobbling more than I heard in half of a spring season with some of these quiet springs we've been having
Oh Yeah, don't forget the T-shirts
Good luck
