1881...W.C. Scott Premier grade 10 ga. with beautiful 32" Damascus barrels. Originally a black powder gun it was reproofed for 3 & 1/2" Nitro sometime in the 1960's.
Although I'm confident that it would I don't shoot high pressure factory loaded shells out it.
That is an awesome picture - straight out if the 19th century, but with the advantage of digital color. ;D
Nice looking Boykin as well. The PERFECT dog to be in that picture.

That's actually my turkey dogs brother, you scold him and you'd loose some fingers...neither dog likes being next to a dead turkey.

Gorgeous, absolutely gorgeous! The tales it could tell.......
Beautiful gun and photo!
Do you turkey hunt with your Boykin?
I read an article about turkey hunting with dogs several years ago. The dogs would sit under the authors leg when he had his knees up. i have never heard of it since then.
Good looking double!!
What a picture.
Beautiful. Now that's old school...

That gun is worth a pretty penny -- you don't see too many of those anymore
What a beautiful gun!

Here's a close up of the Damascus barrels...this was one of the first choked guns. I think it's choked about 30 thousands in each barrel.

I had a Purdey 10 ga. hammer gun, it was built in 1879. The barrels were not original on it they had been sleeved. I killed quite a few turkeys with it before I sold it.
I seen a video once of a guy turkey hunting with a dog. The dog was a lab and he's was under camo netting watching the hunt go down shaking with excitement. After the shot he's was on the bird like white on rice. I though it was the coolest thing ever.
As pretty as are those barrels, I have a soft spot for a sporting dog....
There is no Fall Turkey Season in my county or even close by, but I think I'm hooked.
What do you think, Chloe?
Very nice thank you for sharing!
Fall season is almost equal tospring season in my book
Not quite but it's up there.
That is really great stuff, Mr. Cox!
Thanks for sharing!
That is one fine looking shot gun and a heck of a picture.
