Thanks to Greg Massey, I got in touch with Lonnie Sneed. I always wanted the green glass Outlaw Hen. It came today in the mail. He included a beautiful Alligator skin cover and striker. What amazed me is the beautiful quality and grain in the wood. It is very well put together, everything fits perfectly. I am very please with the sound, for sure to be in my vest. Lonnie is a pleasure to talk to, he is around 84 years young and he told me he will be out there with us, god bless him, a real inspiration. It will be nice to have a piece of history in the woods. Best of luck, be well.
Very nice caller Tom, congrats.

Very nice caller Tom, congrats.
Thx my friend. Be well..
I bought 6 of these for the groomsmen in my wedding, and they all loved them!
Only problem was I forgot to buy myself one. You've inspired me to call him again and fix that.
Your more than Welcome Tom.. That a beautiful call, and the wood is awesome.

You bet my friend, thank you for reaching out to me with his number. Turn-around was fantastic....I found the sweet pot, this thing sings turkey.....
If I get one should I call the number on the call or his partners number?
Thanks

Sorry, I was out. Thanks Greg. Yes, if you call the number on the call, you will get Lonnie. He will be helpful. Good luck...
Congratulations! You got a very good call from a very good man ! He has time for everyone who calls and listens to your stories just like he knows you! Every turkey hunter should make a call to Lonnie sneed sr.
Looks like some improvement assembly wise. That's good
lonnie's partner, jason is lonnie's grandson. Both good people to deal with
Thanks team, just a nice guy, and Jason was very helpful. Turnaround was a couple of weeks which in this era is pretty good. I love the swirly grain on the pot, glass fit perfect, holes drilled super clean, and a perfect finish on the pot. The alligator cover is so unique. Best of all, all turkey on the sweet spot....good luck to all....

A piece of history there for sure. Don't have any of mr. Sneeds calls. I think it's time for me to give him a call based on recent consensus

I have one in my vest at all times. Proven turkey killer. It can get loud and raspy but also rolls over the sweetest soft yelps I've ever heard.
The very first Pot Call I ever bought was Mr. Lonnie's Outlaw Hen. In fact, bought two, one each for my Son and me. Never will forget, I called him on July 3rd one year and left a message around 7:30 p.m. to call me back at his convenience. He did so around 9:45 the same night. We discussed the Calls I wanted and the proper use and care for them and and general turkey talk. And then we went hunting!!! Mr. Lonnie walked me through so many hollows and drug me to the tops of so many hills in West Virginia I woke up the next morning with blisters on my feet! I even started hearing what sounded like gunfire outside in my neighborhood! I finally realized the sound was fireworks and I told Mr. Lonnie Happy Fourth of July! That spry young- at- heart mountain man had talked to me for over 2 hours strong and slam into the next day!!! I never will forget that night and his literally captivating stories about the good 'ol days in "Wild and Wonderful West Virginia".

Treasured memory there, thanks for sharing...
Sure thing Tom! My pleasure then and now...
Congrats Tom.
I been buying pots from Mr. Sneed for a long time, for me, my sons and hunting buddies.
I've got pots from the best of the best and I hunt them all in rotation except a Sneed pot never leaves my vest.

Brother I realize you're being sarcastic but if I had one I'd seriously give it to ya. I'd not even pick one up if it was lying on the ground free. I hope the sound is better now too. Let's not start knocking the man now. There's plenty of thread already on here about that. We don't need to rehash it. I do see improvement. I'll acknowledge that. Until I hear sone drastic sound change happened too I'd still never think it was worth $25. Why don't you post a sound file of yours and show me?

There's threads knocking Lonnie Sneed ? Must have been the relatives of all the dead turkeys started that one, lol.
EZ Let the man enjoy his call and stop trying to muddy the water insinuating it's not a fact. You're smoke screening. Lots of not great sounding calls work as well as call techniques. No one is rushing to post a sound file so how could I possibly know if that has changed? I can't. Post one up and show us. If not you'll never sell me nor anyone else that actually compares lots calls. I guess I'll never convince you either. That was never the point. The original thread was to alert folks about an issue. That from this picture has gotten better. That's good. Best of luck with it OP. Hope it calls you a bunch this spring

Not trying to muddy any waters or keep the man from enjoying a great call at all.
Mr. Sneed has been around a long time as well as his calls. My experience with him and his calls has been nothing but great. Like I said, I have calls from the best of the best and I love them all and I can run 'em til they're smoking and you'll never catch me without a Lonnie Sneed Hot Hen in my vest.
That just my opinion and my experience. There a lot of turkeys wish his calls were never made.
I hope I'm still able to hunt when I'm 84 as far as the calls I haven't hunted mine much but I know they'll call turkeys, I've killed quite a few in my 40 Years of turkey hunting would not hesitate for one second to use his calls I have the hot h e n, and Outlaw h e n, congratulations on that call.

Thank you, yea his story at 84 still turkey hunting is an inspiration to me, and probably to a lot of us. Be well, be safe....
Mr Sneeds pots are not the best looking calls and I understand how someone could second guess his craftsmanship. But the one call I own of his is all turkey.
Very nice!
Lonnie makes some of the best pot calls out there. Saw one in an old general store on the Va/WV line while bear hunting and bought it. Showed it to my turkey hunting friends and we went back and bought 6 calls. Love the leather case... Talked to Lonnie on the phone and he is one of the best. Give him a call. He loves to talk hunting and especially turkey hunting..... :OGturkeyhead:
Greg turned me onto the same call, they really are nice. I was told to try a diamond wood striker on it and it sure did sound good.
