Rem 870: Kicks .655       (56 degrees)

21" bbl      107 in a 10 @ 40        Win XX   3/2/6's

28" bbl      112 in a 10 @ 40         Win     3/ 1 7/8 / 6's

28" bbl      123 in a 10 @ 40         Win XX   3/2/6's

28 bbl.      XXX in a 10 @ 40.        Win XX.  3/2/5's

*220's in a 10 @ 40  Hevi 13 3/2/7's (21" bbl)
*5's..numbers and patterns were weak.
*Better numbers with the 28" but i will probably still carry the short barrel for convenience.  Numbers are still satisfactory at 40 with the short pipe bomb.  :boon:

That 123/10 with the 28" barrel sounds pretty good. Is that the best choke you have tried with the WW 3-2-6s? Wonder if it is better than a Ventilator .655? I shoot a 26" 1187, and am thinking about a good lead shot choke. May talk to Sumtoy.

Yup, that's  the best 3in lead pattern I have ever gotten. The short barrel that turned 107 patterns is really tight inside 30 yds which most of the turkeys I kill are within that range. At 20 yds nearly the entire pattern is in the 10. 250's @ 30,  150's @ 35.  I think I've gone about as tight as I want to go with the lead pattern. The Hev 13 7's is turning 220's @ 40 out of the short barrel so if im hunting a little more open ground i have that option. Think I'm just gonna stay inside 40 and go with that. I would be interested in hearing what the Sumtoy choke will turn out of a short barrel Rem 870 with win XX 3/2/6's.
