I'm curious to know what you guys have been using for strikers on crystal pot calls? What wood types have you been using and what kind of sound are you getting (clear, raspy, etc)?

Skeeterbait

purpleheart - raspy
dymondwood - lightly raspy
laminate oak - clear

Ocoee Ridge Runner

I used a Harold Fowler cherry on my Crystal Mistress last year with great results. It is high pitched with a raspy finish that really sounded great to the birds I killed.

Excellent feedback, guys! Thanks. I will try them out!

Dymondwood is the best. I also use padauk when I want to clear it up.

Dymonwood with Monkey Wood being a close second.
